Best Friends Pet Care, Inc. is wholly owned by Brynwood
Partners, of Greenwich, CT. Brynwood Partners is a private investment fund with interests in many industries. They acquired Best Friends in June, 2001.

Do you franchise? How can I get information on franchising?
We currently have one franchisee, which operates three
facilities in North and South Carolina. Best Friends Pet Care has no current plans to develop new franchise locations or territories. Should these plans change, we will post notice of
the change on this website.

How long has the company been in business?
We were founded in 1991 as Windsor Pet Care and changed our name to Best Friends Pet Care in 1995 to better reflect our unique brand identity. For more about our history, see Our History.

How much more do you plan to grow?
Our growth plans call for us to approximately double the
number of our locations over the next five years through a combination of new company owned pet care centers and selective acquisitions of existing, high quality pet care operations.

What areas of the country are you targeting for growth?
Our expansion strategy is focused on cluster market development. Over the next few years, that strategy will lead us to strengthen our presence in established markets and to establish our brand in selected other high income major markets with strong pet owner demographics. Who are your major competitors?
We have no organized chain competition, since there are currently no other companies with a national presence in pet hospitality. The boarding industry is comprised of more than 11,000 kennels, most individually owned. A few operators have renamed their facilities "Pet Resorts" and begun to offer limited, premium services.
