That’s why we created our award-winning dog daycare program at our Ankeny, IA, West Des Moines, IA, and Waukee, IA pet resorts. Our daycare programs offer action-packed play, exercise, socialization, and plenty of rest, too. Our quality daycare ensures your furry best friend enjoys romping with fellow dogs (or our staff!) in a safe, caring atmosphere. When you pick them up at the end of the day, you’ll have a relaxed and satisfied pup to take home.

TRAINING

Our customized training programs are designed to help your dog master the most common obedience commands, including sit, stay, lay down, come, and heel. We’ll also guide you through overcoming common challenges such as leash-pulling and jumping on people. The owner is also a student in our training classroom. We’ll teach you the best ways to continually support and improve upon your dog’s training long after class has ended.

Welcome to Dawg Paradise!

Dawg Paradise boasts a 9500 square foot, state-of-the-art facility with 32 suites, 2 indoor play arenas, 5 spacious outdoor areas, and a 14 x 20 heated in ground pool. The newly constructed 4800 square foot Dockside facility is located just east of the main building and offers 11 suites for boarding with all the amenities as our other suites. In addition we have 2 outdoor runs as well as indoor play areas.

Bark Avenue Pet Resort’s caring staff aim to provide your pet with a stress-free boarding experience, customized to their individual needs. All stays come with two twenty minute potty breaks per day. After four nights, your pet will receive a complimentary departure bath before they head home to you. Additional playtime and grooming options are available for your best fur-end!

GROOMING

Whether it’s just a nail trim or a full-service groom, our professional stylists can’t wait to pamper your furry friends. With many years of experience, our pet groomers stay current with industry trends and standards. When working with your pet, each groomer practices gentle and compassionate handling techniques to ensure a stress-free experience.

DOG DAYCARE

Our daycare dogs enjoy safe, structured play that offers enrichment, friendship and exercise. Your pet’s doggy daycare day will begin with a morning play session, then a midday nap in their own private kennel, then an afternoon play session – up to 6 hours of group play per day. All doggy daycare groups are supervised by our Pet Care Specialists, who will provide you with a digital report card with photos of your dog’s day.

But the part of boarding that your dog will appreciate the most is busting out of the kennel every morning to go play with the pack in our cage-free indoor/outdoor play area. Then, after a full day of play, they adjourn to the plush environs of our well-appointed kennels.

Indoors and outside, we have plenty of space to stretch all four legs. When the weather is suitable, we can’t wait to throw open the big overhead doors, so the pack can roam freely inside and outside. And when it’s not, we party in our padded, climate-controlled space to our hearts’ content.

TRAINING

The certified trainers at each of The Watering Bowl locations utilize the Least Intrusive Minimally Aversive (LIMA) approach to working with their students. Our mission is to blend consistent guidance and healthy socialization to foster a well-rounded life for both dogs and their owners. It’s all about getting to know each other.

After a full day of play, it’s nice to freshen up before heading home. That’s why we offer a scrub and fluff—now with new Sav-Ur Fur washing machines for less shed—before your scheduled pick-up time. We also offer specific Paw Spaw treatments, a la carte.

WAGGIN' WAGON

Two or more vehicles are considered a fleet. And our four Waggin’ Wagons are at the ready to help pick up your dog from your home or your office if you so wish. It may be the most exciting vehicle to hit your street, at least as far as your dog is concerned.
